[Note, as in years past, I'm going to choose to RAVE instead of RANT for every Sunday during LENT ('cause God and stuff). Although nobody tell the pope, who has gone on record claiming that there's an epidemic of "fake fasting" -- like people who "give up Facebook" for Lent, when that which you give up for Lent is supposed to "demonstrate compassion and enrich others" -- just in case my RAVING instead of RANTING isn't up to his standards. Me personally, I could never give up Facebook, *especially* during this season, as I'm still busy taking screen shots of all my Facebook connections who were Russian puppets reposting Putin's greatest hits during his "make America less democratic" campaign.]
... where was I? Oh right -- if the flowers on the mango tree in the back yard are a reliable prediction, we're going to have a bumper crop this year. (I think any final count above 6 that survive all the way to the refrigerator will be an improvement over last season.) Full disclosure, and to avoid being accused of spreading fake news myself, the second picture is the exact same tree, just shot from the backside, which clearly is suffering from a lack of sun (and therefore has a lack of flowers).By the way, whilst looking up the whole life cycle of the mango from blossom to fruit, I discovered that approximately 25% of those flowers are male ... and that the other 75% are likely hermaphroditic. So while we're keeping secrets from the pope, we should probably also not tell the Santorums and the Huckabees and the other "religious extremists, American edition" about the kinky mango tree in the backyard.
